What they’ll see

Your message appears here.

Your identity stays hidden from the recipient, but GhostRepel retains it for safety and accountability.

The consent loop

Every message starts with consent.

1

Sender creates an account

Senders add their real name, verify their phone, and text GHOSTED before sending.

2

Recipient texts GHOSTED

Recipients need no account. Texting GHOSTED from their phone is enough to opt in.

3

Send one safe message

We check sender identity, recipient consent, rate limits, and content before delivery.

Questions

Anonymous doesn’t mean unaccountable.

Who can send a GhostRepel message?

Only an account holder with a completed profile, verified phone number, and active GHOSTED opt-in.

Who can receive one?

Anyone whose phone number has an active GHOSTED opt-in. Recipients do not need to create an account.

Why does the recipient have to opt in too?

It’s the unfortunate reality of U.S. A2P messaging rules and carrier consent requirements. GhostRepel messages are sent by an application, so carriers require recipients to agree before we can text them—even when another person writes and pays for the message.

Will they know it was me?

No. The recipient sees GhostRepel and the moderated message, not your name or phone number. GhostRepel retains your verified identity for abuse prevention and lawful requests.

What does STOP do?

STOP disables receiving and sending for that phone number until the account owner explicitly opts in again.
